To celebrate Earth Day....

Here's Max!
I have a recycling soul... so I do celebrate Earth Day. I always try to give a second use, at least, to disposable packaging. I separate the trash and carry it to recycling centers. It is my small gift to the future of the Planet. That is why Max is involved in this task... :)

Between flowers…

Here are my Giraffes family for Mother's Day! I think it is a cute drawing. It is "almost" a family photo LOL! The Giraffes and the frame of the drawing are in 3D.

I made this card using a sketch of a challenge and as it has many layers, I thought I did not have to add many embellishment. I have other drawings of the "jungle little animals" and I guess I will show you them later:)

BRIER ROSE, Say it with Flowers Collection

I have been so busy on last days and I have had little time to work on my cards. I am so sorry, because it is an activity that I really love. So far my collection has 10 designs. Today I will show the Brier Rose, also called Dog Rose, Dogberry, Wild Brier. It is the common European wild rose. I did not find a specific meaning, but I know it has many uses. Their hips are rich in vitamins and they are very useful to prepare jam, beverages, herbal tea, jelly, oils, syrup and marmalade. I like roses very much and I think this card is special for Mother's Day because all roses, expensive or wild, are beautiful for mothers.

FUCHSIA ~ Say it with Flowers Collection

To continue with my little collection, I drew this beautiful flower called Fuchsia. When I started drawing these flowers, I wanted also to know the meaning of them in some parts of the world. I like to write here the meanings that I have found more positive. For example, Fuchsia has to do with kindness, amiability. It comes in different shades of purple, from very dark to very light pink, but I painted them with the colors I like the most.

MORNING GLORY ~ Say it with Flowers Collection

Today I will show you a new addition to my collection: the simple and beautiful Morning Glory. I have seen it in pink tones but I love the flowers in shades of blue. In many parts of the world Morning Glory flower is associated with love, loyalty and friendship. For this card I printed image several times, to make it in 3D. I painted the flowers with watercolors and inks and in the largest I put glitter on the center. I decorate the card with beautiful stitches especially on the inside, where I sew to pockets to put a little gift, like a gift-card and/or to write a sentiment. You can find this drawing and my other flowers at EdithCorner'Shop.

GERANIUM ~ Say it with Flowers Collection

Today I will show you another flower of my collection "Say it with Flowers": GERANIUM. I have read that in some places it is considered the flower of friendship. I have seen Geranium in various colors, but my favorite is this dark pink with the center almost black. I very seldom use pink colors in my cards, especially for the background, but in this case I think pink combine very well with different tones of green. As I like to give dimension to my cards, I printed the drawing several times to give the flowers the 3D effect. In the center of each flower I put a yellow crystal that fits nicely with the colors of the flower.
