This is my last 2009 card! Of course, Max had to be in wishing you Happy New Year! LOL!
In this card I used:
Image from EdithDesigns (me!), silver pearly paper, Bazzill cardstock, miscellaneous printed paper, Caran D'Ache watercolors, metallic acrylic paint, glitter translucent paint, pretty metallic gold and silver ribbon, champagne glasses metal embellishment and lots of stitches made with white silk thread and my sewing machine.
I like to decorate both sides of the inside of my cards, to give them a fine finish, strong and heavy. On the right side there is a blank space to write your own good wishes and on the left side I sew a pocket, decorated with the delicate touch of the beautiful EK Success paper punch (I love it!). A tag is included to be used for a sentiment, but the pocket also handle a gift card. I am sure it will make the recipient very happy!
There are several layers of cardstock, both on the outside and the inside, which I sew with silk burgundy thread on my sewing machine.
I made a card with this cute Snowman and his friend, the little mouse. I spent much time and many stitches in this card. As always, I used a sketch of EdithDesigns (that is me!). The image was printed multiple times for a 3D effect and I painted it with watercolors and metallic acrylics. I also used dimensional paint with glitter.
Inside, besides the blank space to write good wishes, in the left side I sew a pocket and added a tag. This pocket can also be used to insert a gift card.In this card I used:
Here is Max with gifts again! You can see him bringing gifts for his friends. I made this card with a drawing of EdithDesigns (that is me!). It has the classic Christmas colors, red green and gold. I printed the image several times to give it a 3D effect.
The inside is dry embossed, highlighted with golden metallic paint. I also sewed some "pockets" made with the beautiful glittered cardstock from K&Co. I made two tags to put inside the pockets, to write many, many good wishes.
Card supplies:
Image from EdithDesigns, Bazzill cardstock, K & Company Specialty Christmas glittered paper, gold metallic cardstock, Gold fancy ribbon, Caran d'Ache watercolors, Metallic Acrylic paints, Spellbinders Nestabilities Scallop Squares, Cuttlebug Christmas Embossing Folders, Golden Silk Thread, Scissors, Sewing Machine.
This is Max, my favorite dog. It is a hand sketch from EdithDesigns (that is me!). He was a pilgrim in Thanksgiving. Now is Santa, flying in his sleigh delivering presents around the world, accompanied by his friend, the reindeer.
I also put a many details on the card. Cardstock on the cover was dry embossed and I highlighted it with gold acrylic paint. Image was painted with watercolors. for the "gift paper" of the gifts I used different colors of metallic acrylic paint. I printed the image several times for a 3D effect. I sew all layers of cardboard with a beautiful stitch on my sewing machine using golden silk thread.
Card supplies:
Image from EdithDesigns, Bazzil cardstock, K&Company Specialty Paper, Golden Metallic cardstock, Caran d'Ache watercolors, Metallic Acrylic Paints, Green Satin Ribbon, Golden Embossing Powder, Darice Heat Tool, Holly Ribbons and Christmas Cuttlebug embossing folders, Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Circle, Scissors, Golden Silk Thread and my sewing machine
I love poinsettias. I have seen them in white, red and pink. I do not know if there will be more colors. I made this card with a sketch of EdithDesigns (that is me!). I printed the image several times to cut out for a 3D effect. This time I outlined with Perfect Pens from Ranger and then I applied gold embossing powder and heat tool. I painted the picture with Caran D'Ache watercolors. I added a beautiful organza ribbon with gold flakes snow applications.
This is my favorite kitten, but I haven't give him a name yet, so up to now he is Kitten on a Christmas boot. This card has many layers of cardstock and of course, I made it with a drawing of EdithDesigns, me:) It is a card that has many details and a lots of stitches.

I painted image with Caran D'Ache watercolors, La Plume pens, puffy white paint and acrylic metallic colors. The candy cane has All Night Media clear crystal effect. I used Bazzill cardstock, K&Company Christmas cardstock, red and gold organza ribbon and also gold ribbon. The boot and the head of the kitten were "popped" two and three times for a 3D effect. I sewed all layers with golden silk thread.
I really had fun making this card. It is my "Grateful Turkey", an "EdithDesign" drawing. When I was drawing this cute turkey, I thought that if turkeys could say something, would be this sentence:) When I finished the sketch I looked for the appropriate papers and card stocks to match and gradually added details.
I finished decorating the card with a "flower-lettuce" over the ribbon on the left. The glittered turkey has also a lettuce, which has crystal effect, on its wings.
These are my little pilgrims, Jo and Joe. I made this card with an EdithDesigns drawing. I used Bazzill cardstock and a beautiful paper suitable for Thanksgiving. I printed out the cute Little Pilgrims 3 times, to give them a 3D effect. Each layer was delineated, hand-painted and carefully cut out by hand. I painted the images with Caran d'Ache Watercolor. I used crystal effect in Joe's hat’s buckle and in the shoes of both and I added a beautiful organza ribbon. I sewed the layers of paper and cardboard both outside and inside with beautiful stitching on my sewing machine, using gold silk thread, which gives to the card a very elegant touch. I really enjoyed making this card!
I made these two cards for Thanksgiving. I love the colors of this celebration! Both cards were made with “EdithDesigns” images, water colored and outlined by hand.
Here is Max, the Pilgrim. The pumpkin and shoes have crystal effects and Max was "popped up" three times for a 3D effect. I used beautiful paper, dry embossed Bazzill card stock, some crystals and natural twigs.
She is Maxine, the Pilgrim, very happy taking her pie to the celebration. Her shoes and the pie have crystal effect. I used many layers of paper and added dry embossed card stock Bazzill, to which I applied the sand technique to bring out the colors.
This card is for Jaimie. I made this drawing especially for her and I called"Rex Black Belt". I think most of you should already know her sad story. In the photos it is not written the sentiment yet. It is very difficult to write something nice that can cheer her under this immense tragedy. I hope when she receives the huge amount of cards that everybody is sending to her, she can feel a little better.
Finally! Here is my new card. As always, as I started from zero (I mean from the drawing), it takes me too much time to make my cards. There is a lot of dedication and time involved on this card.On the outside, flowers, leaves and butterfly have crystal effect. Each layer of the images was dry embossed with gold embossing powder. On the inside I added beautiful decorative stitches that I made with gold silk thread.
Card supplies: 140lb watercolor cardstock, Bazzill cardstock burgundy and green color, miscellaneous paper, handmade drawing from “EdithDesigns”, gold embossing powders, Emboss a2 Script Texture Cuttlebug, Spellbinder Classic Scallop Circle, Caran d'Ache Watercolors, LaPlume Pencils, DMC Silk Thread, All Night Media Liquid Embossing, Burgundy dew drops, Gold embossing powders, Darice Heat Tool, green decorative ribbon and my sewing machine. This card will be in the following challenges:
Cuttlebug Challenge -My favorite things - (my favorite insect- The butterfly, my favorite embossing folder, my favorite colors and my favorite stitch:)
This is Miss Amelia. I made this sketch thinking in the little turtle of a dear friend, which gives her great joy. Miss Amelia can wear different colors of all seasons on her flowers. In this card she is wearing autumn colors but in spring she will use colorful flowers.
I love squirrels! This is Larry, a nice squirrel ready to jump to eat his acorns! I draw this sketch some time ago and I finally got the chance to use it. There are many layers of beautiful papers and cardstocks in fall colors. If you want to have Larry's sketch for your hand work, image is available here.
I still have no name for these birds in love. They are super cute! I made this card using pastel color papers over a blue and violet background. The birds are "popped". In the top layer I put glitter for a light shining effect. I added a small bright flower on her head. I made a roll of paper, the same that I used on the label, to form the stick where the birds are supported. I cut the leaves using a Sizzlits die. A little tag hangs from the "branch”. The small chains allow it to move. The pale golden ribbon combines with the golden thread that I used to sew the layers of cardstock. This new sketch is available here.
I am very happy to announce the opening ofEdithDesigns CornerShop. I have been working in my drawings for a long time to use in my cards. Many people had asked me about them. Today I started to sell them. I will appreciate your visits on my site! I will be adding sketches permanently.
This is one of my favorite sketches, although I must say that all my drawings are my favorites (and I have many!! LOL!) The first time I made a card with Miss Cow, I made the sketch with her best friend, Jay the little pig, flying in a balloon. This time I put her boots and she is playing the guitar. She also has sunglasses, as befits a rock star.
I used layers of Bazzill card stock and a beautiful paper with rockers designs highlighted with glitter. The guitar and the sunglasses have crystal effect. I think this is a card to someone special, for any occasion:)
I made this card with a beautiful stamp of Charlie, from the Whiff of Joy, which was a gift that my friend Cindy gave me some time ago. I guess this is the second or third card that I made using a stamp:)
I added one of my drawings for the background. This castle is similar to the one I designed for a card that I made some time ago, with a princess and a toad. I used different printed papers to make the "grass" and "water". The castle has a drawbridge that is lifted. I have painted the “chains" that raise the bridge with silver metallic paint.
The water under the bridge has a crystal effect (Clear Glass Finish, Liquid Embossing from All Night Media). I used the same effect on Charlie's armor. I painted Charlie and the castle with watercolors and inks. I loved to use this stamp. Thanks again, Cindy!
I like all the flowers in shades of blue. I love violets. They are so simple and so beautiful. I made this sketch some time ago and I always pictured it in a simple card for any occasion. I called "Simply Violets"I used several layers of card stock and a matching paper in blue tones.
The decor of this card is also very simple and quiet. I cut low edges with a Fiskars borders punch and I added a couple of small brads on the sides. On the top I put a bow that I made with a beautiful blue ribbon. I added a crystal flower in the center. Simple, like Violets...
